H-E-B, the beloved Texas-based grocery chain, is finally answering one of its customers' most persistent requests: tap-to-pay technology. The company announced on Monday that it's launching Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay services across its stores, starting with San Antonio locations this week.

The rollout began at flagship stores and is expected to reach all regional locations within a week. The service will expand throughout October to H-E-B stores across Texas, including Mi Tienda stores in Houston.

Customers can use tap-to-pay at H-E-B's main stores, brand restaurants, pharmacies, and fuel station payment windows. However, the service won't be available directly at fuel pumps.

Ashwin Nathan, H-E-B's Group Vice President of Marketing and Payments, emphasized the company's commitment to enhancing shopping experiences through technology.

At H-E-B, we’re always exploring a broad range of technologies to enhance how customers shop and pay for products. This has been one of the most requested services we have received from our customers and Partners, and we are excited to now make this popular technology available at all our H-E-B locations.”
