Jayden Daniels speaks for the first time at Commanders Training Camp

ASHBURN, Va (DC News Now) – As the Commanders take the field for their third day of practice, more and more excitement surrounds their first round quarterback Jayden Daniels. Before practice, head coach Dan Quinn praised Daniels for his work ethic and natural leadership.

“Not only is he an exceptional talent but he’s and excellent teammate” Quinn said. “He’s got the humility and hard work of a rookie and the swagger of an older guy…that’s a pretty nice blend to have”

Daniels had another impressive day of practice, backing up his coaches praises. For the first time this training camp Daniels appeared on the podium. He talked about his comfort level with the offense, saying how it’s growing more and more every time they take the field. Daniels also spoke about the media attention, and how’s not letting that effect his play on the field.

“I’m never going to put myself in the spotlight,” Daniels said “Everybody’s equal on the field, you got to go out there and compete and show everyday.

Daniels also talked about the support from the coaches, and how the whole staff is on the same page. He not only is receiving help from the coaches, but defensive players as well, namely All Bobby Wagner.

“Being able to talk to him and get his prospective” Daniels said. “It’s awesome, just having that veteran presence with Bobby (Wagner)”

The Commanders will be off from practice Saturday, but Sunday they’ll return to the field Infront of a crowd for the first time this camp.
