ASHE COUNTY — The Ashe County VFW recently made history by coordinating and conducting the first-ever Ashe County Commanders meeting. Leadership from all five military organizations—VFW, DAV, Marine Corps League, American Legion, and MOAA—gathered to discuss the needs and concerns of Ashe County veterans. HCAR Report: Sales, inventory moving up
HIGH COUNTRY — The High Country Real Estate Market of Alleghany, Ashe, Avery and Watauga counties saw sales and inventory alike inching up during May. In May, there were 170 closed sales on single-family and condo/townhouse properties, according to a report from the High Country Association of Realtors. That combined closing total came in at $86.5 million for the month. The combined median sales price was $428,413, according to the report. ...

CRESTON — The Ashe County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help in locating a missing Ashe County man, Edwin Bruce Greer Jr., who also goes by “Spike” of Creston. Greer was reported missing on June 22, 2024, to the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office. Greer is also wanted for outstanding warrants from Johnson County, Tennessee. JEFFERSON, N.C. (WBTV) - The search for a missing Charlotte man in Ashe County ended Friday, according to the county sheriff’s office.
