    The following is a list of upcoming events in Ashe County. All times and dates are subject to change. If you have an event you would like added to the calendar, email event details to nathan.ham@ashepostandtimes.com by 5 p.m. on Friday.

    June 27

    ACNCRW Meeting — The next Ashe County North Carolina Republican Women meeting is Thursday, at 11 a.m. at the Glendale Springs Inn & Restaurant. All Ashe County conservatives are welcome. If you would like to participate in the catered luncheon for $20 which includes salad, entrée, drink, tax, and tip RSVP to jeniferfalls1@outlook.com. There is no charge if you choose not to eat.

    Chairmen of the Board concert — Chairmen of the Board, members of the North Carolina Music Hall Of Fame, will perform at the Ashe Civic Center on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the show are $25 for adults and $7.50 for students.

    Ashe County GOP hosting Presidential Debate watch party — The First 2024 Presidential Candidate Debate will be held on Thursday, June 27, at 9 p.m. The Ashe County GOP has reserved a room at the courthouse for all those wishing to watch this debate with fellow community members. The debate itself will be held in Atlanta at the CNN studios. The two moderators will be Jake Tapper, lead CNN Washington anchor, and Dana Bash, news anchor and host of CNN’s Inside Politics.

    Lansing Farmers Market — Find a variety of local produce, eggs, meat and artisan crafts each Friday 1 p.m. to near 6 p.m. now thru November. Information and a list of vendors is available at lansingparkfarmersmarket.com/.

    Andrew Cotts at Old Barn Winery — Enjoy the piano music of Andrew Cotts at the Old Barn Winery in West Jefferson from 3-6 p.m.

    Backstreet Park Concert Series presents Crooked Road Ramblers — The Crooked Road Ramblers will play at the Backstreet Park in West Jefferson from 5:30-7 p.m.

    June 29

    Ashe County Farmers Market — The Ashe County Farmers Market is open each Saturday from now through the end of October. Market hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Backstreet in West Jefferson.

    Fly Fishing at Wagoner Access Campground — A special fly fishing program will be presented by Wagoner Access Campground host, Tom Kellner from 10 a.m. until noon. Tom is an avid fly fisherman and a Pisgah Trout Unlimited member.

    The King Bees at Old Barn Winery — Enjoy some blues tunes from The King Bees at the Old Barn Winery in West Jefferson from 1-4 p.m.

    Classic Highway at Old Barn Winery — Classic Highway will be performing at the Old Barn Winery in West Jefferson from 4-7 p.m.

    Casino Night at Jefferson Landing — Try your luck at blackjack, poker, craps, and roulette at Jefferson Landing during Casino Night from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $100 per members or $125 non members.     Cool Corner Jazz at Old Barn Winery — Hear the tunes of Cool Corner Jazz at the Old Barn Winery in West Jefferson from 2-5 p.m.

    July 4

    Todd Liberty Parade — The Todd Liberty Parade returns from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The parade ends at Cook Park with a live concert by the King Bees. Food will be available for purchase. Parking is $5 per car.

    Boone 4th of July Parade — The Downtown Boone annual 4th of July parade will take place on July 4 starting at 11 a.m. The parade travels east on King Street, starting at the intersection with Poplar Grove Extension and ending at Legends on Hardin St. (around the corner from Dan’l Boone Inn). Following the parade, the Town of Boone continues the celebration on the lawn of the Jones House Cultural Center.

    July 4 Celebration at the Old Barn Winery — Enjoy a full day of music and fun at the Old Barn Winery in West Jefferson from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Those 3 Guys play from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Taylon Hope plays from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., Camel City Yacht Club plays from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. and Alex Key plays from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. There will be food trucks and plenty more to celebrate the day.

    4th of July Fireworks — The annual 4th of July Fireworks show will begin around 9:30 p.m. from the ridgeline across from Mt. Jefferson Road. Parking areas include Ashe County High School, the Old Lowes Foods shopping center, Walmart, Lowes Hardware, State Farm Insurance, Ashe Civic Center, SkyBest Security, Skyline National Bank, Goodwill, Auto Zone (after 8 p.m.), LifeStore Bank and Main Street in West Jefferson.

    Boone 4th of July Fireworks — The annual Town of Boone fireworks display will take place on the evening of Thursday, July 4, at Clawson-Burnley Park at the Boone Greenway. The community is invited to come to view the fireworks, which will begin around dusk.

    July 5-6

    Christmas in July — The annual Christmas in July Festival in downtown West Jefferson will kick off on Friday, July 5 and continue through Saturday, July 6. Musical lineups and festival information can be found online at www.christmasinjulyfestival.com/.

    Saloon Studios Concert Series presents Tom Petty Tribute, The Wildflowers — Visit Saloon Studios on Friday and Saturday for a pair of shows featuring Tom Petty Tribute band The Wildflowers. The July 5 show will be on the Saloon Stage with limited seating. The July 6 show will be on the outdoor festival stage. The Rewind will open the show on the outdoor stage on July 6.     July 5

    Jerry G at Old Barn Winery — Listen to the music of Jerry G from 12-3 p.m. at the Old Barn Winery in West Jefferson.

    Euphoria at Old Barn Winery — Euphoria will be performing at the Old Barn Winery in West Jefferson from 3-6 p.m.

    July 6

    Ashe County Farmers Market — The Ashe County Farmers Market is open each Saturday from now through the end of October. Market hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Backstreet in West Jefferson.

    Christmas in July Concert at Mount Jefferson Presbyterian Church — There will be a free concert at Mount Jefferson Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The concert presents Cathy Wilson and Friends playing the piano, organ and hammered dulcimer.

    BRB at the Old Barn Winery — BRB (Brown, Reese and Brown) will be performing from 1-4 p.m. at the Old Barn Winery in West Jefferson.

    Adam Church Band at Old Barn Winery — The Adam Church Band will close out the evening from 4-7 p.m. at the Old Barn Winery in West Jefferson.

    July 7

    Shelby Rae Moore Band at Old Barn Winery — Enjoy the tunes of the Shelby Rae Moore Band at the Old Barn Winery in West Jefferson from 2-5 p.m.
