Ashe County VFW hosts inaugural Ashe County Commanders meeting

ASHE COUNTY — The Ashe County VFW recently made history by coordinating and conducting the first-ever Ashe County Commanders meeting. Leadership from all five military organizations—VFW, DAV, Marine Corps League, American Legion, and MOAA—gathered to discuss the needs and concerns of Ashe County veterans. The meeting was a remarkable success and will now be held quarterly.

The Ashe County VFW is also welcoming new leadership and friendly faces. The annual elections have been completed, and the results are in, promising fresh energy and perspectives for the future.

Elected members are:

1. Tim Hudak as Commander

2. Bill Carter as Senior Vice Commander

3. Joshua Biggers as Junior Vice Commander & Adjutant Officer

4. Will Ryan as Quartermaster

5. Richard Weaver as Three-Year Trustee

6. Mona Hamlin as Seargent of Arms

7. Michael Brown as VSO, Veteran Service Officer

8. Larry Powers as Chaplain
