AppHealthCare center Reopens in Jefferson

JEFFERSON — The Ashe County Chamber of Commerce and attendees congratulated AppHealthCare on re-opening their newly renovated facility with an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, Aug. 26.

“We are really thrilled to be back here,” AppHealth Care Director Jennifer Greene said. “It’s been a journey.”

Back in December 2022, the building they occupied sustained water damage stemming from frozen pipes after Winter Storm Elliott hit the county with a cold snap. As a result, AppHealthCare worked out of a satellite clinic in order to continue services. With the assistance of the county, Phipps Construction was contracted to complete the renovations.

The health center opened their doors and welcomed patients and the community on July 15 with several updates and repairs. The HVAC system, roof, plumbing and cabinetry were updated. The floors, ceilings, and walls that were damaged were repaired. As part of the renovations, two additional patient rooms were added, increasing the number of rooms from five to seven.

AppHealthCare remains committed to helping the whole person and meeting patients where they are, said Greene. She said the health center will continue to provide primary care services, behavioral health services, treatment for substance use disorders, and more.

The Ashe Health Center is located at 413 McConnell Street in Jefferson and is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. To make an appointment, call (828) 795-1970.
