    Man accused of assaulting woman, kidnapping, pointing gun in Randolph County

    RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A Randolph County man is being accused of kidnapping, assaulting a woman and pointing a gun, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.

    On June 19, Randolph County deputies came to Grantville Lane in Asheboro after getting a report of an assault.

    At the scene, investigators found the victim who was suffering from visible injuries and identified the suspected assailant as 59-year-old Ronald Lepere Davis.

    Investigators say that Davis had left the scene before law enforcement arrived.

    After investigation, Davis was charged with felony first-degree kidnapping, felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury, misdemeanor assault on a female, misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun, misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor communicating threats.

    On Monday, Davis went to Guilford County and turned himself in. He was then served the outstanding warrants and arrested.

    Davis is being held without bond and will appear in court on July 22.
