    VOTE: Citizen Times and Times-News spring sports Week 12 girls athlete of the week

    Vote for the Citizen Times and Times-News girls athlete of the week. Fans may vote one time per hour.

    The poll is set to end Thursday at noon.

    Ella Jane Osada, Asheville Christian Academy: Osada's mark of 56.54 seconds in the 400-meter dash earned her a state title at the girls NCISAA Division II state championships. She also took second in the 200-meter dash.

    Journey Morrison, Asheville School: Morrison's time of 15.06 earned her the 100-meter hurdles state title, helping the Blues to the team NCISAA Division II state championship.

    Abby Smith, Asheville School: The senior took the state championships in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:12.62 and the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:22.66. She also finished in second in the 800-meter run,

    Charley Goodwin, Brevard: Goodwin scored a hat trick and tallied two assists, helping a powerful Brevard offense to an 11-2 win over R-S Central in the first round of the 2A playoffs. The freshman scored both goals Thursday in a 2-1 win over Madison to lift the Blue Devils into the third round of the NCHSAA playoffs.

    Caroline Barton, Carolina Day: Barton took state titles in the 1,600-meter run and 3,200-meter run with times of 5:04.90 and 11:02.75, respectively, at the girls NCISAA Division III state championships. She also finished in second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.01.

    Zoie Shuler, Robbinsville: On Monday, Shuler scored two runs to set a new NCHSAA single-season record with 64 runs scored, surpassing the record set in 2015. The Black Knights beat Cherryville 5-1 to advance to the fourth round of the NCHSAA playoffs. She scored three more runs on Friday, including a solo home run, to help Robbinsville beat Uwharrie Charter and advance to the 1A West Regional finals.

    Marianne Maxon, West Henderson: Maxon tallied a hat trick and assisted on two more goals in an 8-0 win over North Lincoln in the first round of the 3A playoffs. She scored another hat trick to bring the Falcons to a 3-2 win over Central Cabarrus in the second round of the NCHSAA playoffs on Thursday.
