    Vote for the top WNC boys volleyball player entering 2024 NCHSAA and NCISAA season

    The North Carolina high school fall sports season started Monday, including volleyball.

    The Citizen Times and Times-News released its list of 20 Western North Carolina volleyball players to watch . Now it's time for WNC high school sports fans to weigh in. Who do you think is the top returning volleyball player in WNC?

    Who is the top returning WNC volleyball player?

    Alexis Davis, Cherokee: Davis, a 1A All-State selection as a junior, was ninth in North Carolina with a .426 hitting percentage. She recorded 189 kills, 114 digs, 50 aces and 36 blocks, leading the Braves to a perfect conference finish and a fourth-round playoff appearance.

    Cali Queen, Franklin: Queen tallied 339 kills, 253 digs, 34 aces and 18 total blocks, helping the Panthers to their best year since 2011 . Franklin went 23-3, won the Mountain 7 Conference and reached the second round of the NCHSAA 3A playoffs.

    Ella Alexander, Enka: Alexander led the Sugar Jets in kills, aces and assists, with 204, 51, and 407, respectively. She was also second on the team with 226 digs. Enka finished second in the Mountain Athletic Conference, only losing twice to Roberson.

    Emma Bryson, West Henderson: Bryson committed to play volleyball at Georgia ahead of last season because the school checked all the boxes on her list. After committing, she collected 395 kills, 45 aces, 102 total blocks and 269 digs on her way to a 3A All-State selection.

    Emma Powell, Brevard: Powell recorded 161 kills, 64 blocks and 24 digs and was a big part of Brevard's march to its first-ever 2A state volleyball title last season.

    Gracie Sutton, Swain County: Sutton led the Maroon Devils in kills with 241 and blocks with 50 in 2023 and added 40 aces and 68 digs. The 5-foot-11 senior is one of several key pieces returning from Swain County's second-place conference team last season.

    Haleigh Kamer, Asheville Christian Academy: Kamer was one of the area's top players last season, recording 358 kills, 271 assists, 56 aces, 27 blocks and 171 digs and earning an NCISAA 3A All-State selection. Kamer recently committed to West Florida.

    Karlie Henning, Roberson: Henning led the Mountain Athletic Conference with 314 kills and added 175 digs and 33 aces. She led the Rams to a fourth consecutive conference title before reaching the second round of the NCHSAA 4A playoffs.

    Morgan Yoder, Polk County : Yoder was second in North Carolina with a hitting percentage of .517. She recorded 330 kills, 116 digs, 94 blocks and 71 aces as Polk County won its first ever state title .

    Sophia Overholt, Polk County: Overholt was second on the Wolverines with 285 kills and third with 371 digs. She also had 31 blocks and 30 aces, helping the 1A state champions finish second in the Mountain Foothills 7 Conference behind 2A state champion Brevard.
