WNC man will do less than 9 months on two sex crime charges

An Asheville man will do less than a year in prison after being found guilty on two sex crime charges. Court records say 55 year old Bart William Zink invited the victim over to his house for a party.

The woman arrived, and nobody else was at the home. She consumed alcohol and was convinced not to drive home. She testified she fell asleep in a recliner but woke up the next morning in Zink's bed with him.

A minute-long video was found on Zink's phone in which it was discovered he touched the woman inappropriately while she was unconscious. Zink was sentenced on charges of felony peeping and misdemeanor sexual battery.

He's set to serve just over 200 days in jail and will have to register as a sex offender.
