Huntsville’s Stovehouse district expands with new restaurants, retail
More restaurants, retail offerings and housing options are coming to Huntsville’s Stovehouse District off Governors Drive. The offerings are part of a revitalization effort in the part of the city just across Memorial Parkway from the downtown core that includes the $400 million Mill Creek Choice Neighborhood Initiative that was recently awarded a $50 million federal grant and the $65 million Pinhook Creek project that includes a river-walk and “Skybridge” pedestrian bridge.

Storms down trees, eyes on strengthening Gulf tropical system
DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -Severe storms plummeted southeast Alabama early Saturday, leaving a few trees down, most of them in Dale County, per emergency responder reports. Emergency responders reported other downed trees in the Florida panhandle, where storms also awakened residents before dawn and, in Dothan, firefighters dealt with a powerline that caught fire.
