Former UNK women's hoops star enters RMAC Hall of Fame
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A former Nebraska-Kearney athlete is being honored for her standout career. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference inducted Jennifer Warner Ramsey into the RMAC Hall of Fame earlier this month. Warner Ramsey played basketball for UNK from 1995-97 and won conference player of the year twice. The transfer from Iowa State guided the Lopers to a 54-8 record over two seasons and to a pair of wins in the NCAA Division ll tournament.
WOWT programming changes during the Olympics
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - With the 2024 Paris Olympics underway, several WOWT newscasts and other programming will be pre-empted by NBC coverage of the games and ceremonies. The Opening Ceremony coverage began at 11 a.m. Friday, pre-empting our Midday and afternoon newscasts. 6 News will be back for our 5 p.m. Friday newscast, with the 10 p.m. newscast delayed by 30 minutes as NBC airs a prime-time repeat of the Opening Ceremony.
Sewer line repairs underway in Hastings

The company started working Thursday afternoon in the alley between South Hastings and South Denver Avenues. SIDNEY - Demolition derby fans were rushed for cover as a severe warned storm approached the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds on Saturday evening. Gusty winds, heavy rain and cloud to ground lightning delayed the start of the Rumble on the Rails Demolition Derby. Officials tell News Channel Nebraska they're aiming for a start time of 8 p.m., depending on the weather. If there's a lightning strike within five miles of the fairgrounds, it would delay the derby another 30 minutes.
