Merrimack Valley Credit Union Raises $40,000 for Financial Edge Education Program
Merrimack Valley Credit Union raised nearly $40,000 at its early June Charity Golf Classic at Atkinson Country Club to support its Financial Edge educational program. Merrimack Valley Credit Union partnered with Banzai to develop Financial Edge, a program that improves the financial literacy of students and adults by offering training and digital tools to schools and community organizations throughout the Merrimack Valley. 103-year-old Helen Peavey of Laconia celebrates birthday with family, friends
St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center hosted a birthday party for 103-year-old Helen Peavey in Laconia on Monday morning. Residents came to celebrate, and a half chocolate, half vanilla cake was served, along with lemonade. The room was filled with yellow decorations: Peavey’s favorite color. Her daughter Pat Moody, 77, niece Camille Kimball, 76, and granddaughter Tina Kelly, 55, all came to celebrate. The family said her secret to a long life was that she loved vegetables and taking vitamins. John Gauthier, another St. Francis resident, turned 104 on Sunday, making Peavey only the second oldest resident by a year and one day.

Nashua, NH man facing charges after 11-year-old girl overdoses on fentanyl
NASHUA, N.H (WHDH) - A Nashua, New Hampshire man is facing criminal charges in connection with the overdose of an 11-year-old girl last week, officials said. Tyler Greenhalgh, 31, has been charged with felony possession of a controlled drug, subsequent offense, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child after the child overdosed on fentanyl that he was in possession of, officials said.
