Several suspects in a robbery at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday at Rite Aid Pharmacy, 419 Claremont Ave., Ashland, were in custody after a pursuit that ended on Interstate 270 near Cemetery Road in Columbus.

Ashland Police responded to a robbery at Rite Aid where witnesses said three males fled the scene on foot and were picked up by a Silver Ford Escape, according to a news release from Ashland Police Chief David Lay on Thursday afternoon.

Police initiated a pursuit of a Silver Ford Escape traveling at a high rate of speed in the 1600 block of Claremont Avenue, prompting the chase.

During the pursuit, the suspects threw empty pill bottles from the vehicle, according to the news release.
