Population of Ashland is 4,000.

Tomlinson & Egan began construction on the new Ashland County Court House.

Eight Ashlanders were among 36 injured when the Ashland Limited, train 212, hit a switch engine at Antigo.

Robert K. Biglow, an Ashland P-51 Mustang Fighter Bomber pilot, was promoted to 1st. Lieutenant. He flew 61 sorties against the enemy.
