ASHWAUBENON — A new multi-venue restaurant is under construction.

The new three-story building, 789 Armed Forces Drive, will have a pizzeria on the first floor, barbecue-style restaurant on the second floor and event venue on the third floor. The project was put on hold in April after the village denied TIF funding , a program for projects in development. However, Andy Szymanski, the owner of Anduzzi's, found alternative financing and construction is now underway.

Aaron Schuette, community development director for the village, said the footings, foundations and elevator shaft are in place, and the structural steel is currently being erected.

"The building grounds will be developed consistent with the approved site plan," he said.

Mac Cisar, chief operating officer for Anduzzi's, said that when the village denied funding, the project was paused to figure out remaining options.

"Fortunately, we were able to secure alternative financing in the last couple months," he said.

The building will be a mixed-use facility, three stories high with three unique business models for each floor. The property for the new restaurant is connected in the far southeastern corner, through the parking lot, to Anduzzi's at 1992 Holmgren Way. Cisar said construction is expected to be complete in March, with business operations beginning the following April, which would be in time for the NFL draft in Green Bay.

The first floor will have an Italian pizzeria and pastaria, with ample seating styles to accommodate large groups. It will also have an area for private events and a large patio with covered outdoor seating.

The second floor will be home to a Western bar and restaurant that will feature live music, Tex-Mex cuisine, and serve specialty barbecue and smoked meats. An elevated, covered patio will also be available to customers.

The third floor will be used as a gathering area, primarily focused on wedding receptions, corporate and other events. The space will be open to the public for weekly activities including dinner and wine pairings, and seasonal activities like Packers games. The rooftop patio will offer views of the surrounding neighborhood, including Lambeau Field.

There is also an outdoor stage for live entertainment on the northwest corner of the building, Cisar said, music and live events will be hosted there when customer traffic allows for it.
