Neil Young shows up at local record store to sign his new album ‘Before and After’
ATASCADERO — A line of Neil Young’s fans started forming in front of Atascadero’s local record store, Traffic Records, as early as 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7. It was announced via Traffic Record’s social media platforms on Wednesday, Dec. 6, that Young would be holding a signing for the release of his new album, “Before and After” at the record store from 12 to 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8.
No Party Preference crossover ballot notice and application mailers sent
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — This week, SLO County voters registered as No Party Preference (NPP) received a crossover notice and ballot application in their mailboxes. Those voters who declined to provide a political party preference when registering to vote (or who registered with an unknown or unqualified political party) are considered No Party Preference/NPP voters, and the primary ballot they receive by mail for the March 5, 2024, Primary Election will not have presidential candidates on it. This only applies to presidential candidates, and all other contests will appear on their ballot.

ATASCADERO — Atascadero is currently in the middle of putting together its General Plan Update. Here is what the city has done so far and their current plan to move forward. “Cities are required to keep their General Plan up to date, the state requires that,” said Community Development Director Phil Dunsmore. “Our General Plan was last updated in 2002. Sandra “Sandy” Jean Viborg 1938-2023
Sandra “Sandy” Jean Viborg, 85 of Paso Robles passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Sandy was born on October 14, 1938, in Torrington, Connecticut. At the age of 7 years old her parents, Charles and Dorothy Woodland, along with her sisters, Patricia and Marylou, moved the family to Paso Robles to join other family members who were already here. Sandy graduated from Paso Robles High School with the Class of 1956. After a couple of years of college in the San Jose area, Sandy returned to Paso Robles and met the love of her life, Ole Viborg at a Grange Hall dance in Atascadero.
Richard Norman Ross 1930-2023
Richard “Dick” Ross passed away in Paso Robles on November 10, 2023, at the age of 93. A longtime Paso Roblan, Dick worked for Walt Disney World and the Boy Scouts of America, where he produced many large events. Upon moving to Paso Robles, Dick was involved in many civic organizations, including helping build the Paso Robles Children’s Museum and creating set designs for the Pioneer Museum. A full obituary and information on a celebration of life is forthcoming.

David Thompson transitioned into pure positive energy on 11/25/23 at age 94. After living a long, full, and happy life Dad was in peace and knew he was loved. Dad’s glass wasn’t just half full, it runneth over; his most uttered statements were, “Life is Good” and “I’m a lucky man”.
Former CCC Fitness owner pleads guilty to illegal video recording and gun possession
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — Cole Charles Corrigan (DOB 10-24-87), former owner of CCC Fitness in San Luis Obispo, has pleaded guilty to two counts of illegally recording patrons within the restroom and being a felon in possession of a handgun. The charges stem from incidents in August 2023, during Corrigan’s ownership of CCC Fitness, which is now closed.
Nipomo man arrested for child sex abuse
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — One Nipomo man has been arrested for child sexual abuse after the Sheriff’s Office received a report of the allegations in late November. During the course of the investigation, two victims were identified. Both victims are female and 15-years-old. The sexual abuse began when both victims were age 14. A suspect was identified as 21-year-old Elijah Eric Machado of Nipomo.
