Manchester (Ga.) five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry has been committed twice now in his three years of high school.

He’s not rushing anything this time. In fact, he’s committed to taking things all the way to December and the early signing period, at least for now.

“I’ll be committing in December on early signing day,” Terry told DawgsHQ. “Right now, I’m just holding everything off and focusing on the high school team and going to the state championship.”

The No. 7 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings admits that isn’t necessarily on his timing.

Terry is open to making a decision when he’s ready or a higher power shows him that the time has come to choose what will be his final commitment.

“Everything is on God’s timing and they say the third time is the charm,” Terry said. “I want this to be the one. I just want to wait on God’s timing.”

Terry is focused on three schools. Georgia joins Alabama and Florida State at the head of the table in the recruitment of the elite defensive lineman. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Georgia a 96.8 percent chance of landing Terry according to RPM.

Georgia continues to make headway for Justus Terry

Terry has Georgia high on his board as of now.

“They sit at the top, I’m not going to lie,” Terry said. “It’s Alabama, Georgia and Florida State are the ones that are me the hardest right now and sitting at the top.”

Georgia got the last visit with Terry before the latest dead period. He was in town for Georgia’s cookout event at the end of July.

Terry had the chance to have fun in Athens. There wasn’t a lot of football talk. He simply got the chance to be around the people of Georgia’s program. For the five-star, that may be the most important piece of the puzzle moving forward.

“It was good,” Terry said. “We played on the slip and slide, shot water guns and we just went in there and had fun, we caught Kirby lacking. It was all types of fun. There wasn’t really a message this time. It was just about coming to see if it was home…Going to a school you have to have chemistry. I feel like that builds, being around each other and having fun. If we have a good bond I know that I can count on them in certain situations. It builds team chemistry.”

    Where’s home?

Terry wants to feel at home. Home being Manchester, Georgia. He’s looking for the feel he gets when he’s cutting hair in the small town nestled in the southeast corner of Georgia.

“I’m focused on finding that home feeling,” Terry said. “I want to go see if it feels like Manchester. Do I get that feeling being around those guys?”

Georgia’s coaching staff has some help making Terry feel comfortable in Athens. Five-star commits Isaiah Gibson and Zayden Walker don’t live far from Terry on the map. They have been consistent messages in Terry’s notifications since they announced their intentions to sign with Georgia.

“As soon as they committed, they texted me ‘you know where home is and come play with us’, so I see what they trying to get at,” Terry said. “They’re coming for me hard. I’m just taking my time. They’re still going to be there coming after me.”
