Six people were arrested on child molestation charges Tuesday following an investigation into allegations that four children were sexually molested for years in a Winder home, according to the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office.

The assaults on the children, ranging in age from 3 to 11, occurred at a home on Englewood Road in a neighborhood on the western outskirts of Winder, according to the report.

“It was one of the worse cases of child abuse that I’ve seen a long while,” Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said Tuesday. “I hope they (the suspects) don’t see the light of day for a long time.”

The sheriff’s investigators began working the case after the children had been removed from the home and placed in foster care, according to Smith.

The children divulged what had happened to them and during the investigation deputies began corroborating their stories, the sheriff said. Some of the molestations were organized by the family members, according to Smith. The sexual assaults cover a period of about five years, according to the sheriff.

On Tuesday, sheriff’s investigators took search and arrest warrants and went after the suspects. They were identified as Paul Andrew Bean, 32; Kavin Eugene Neese, 55; Jerry Lee Neese Jr., 24; and, Keith Allen Neese, 57, all who face charges of child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, and cruelty to children. Bean is also charged with sodomy. Ashely Nicole Neese, 32, and Felisa Michelle Bailey, 50, are both charged with child molestation and cruelty to children.

Smith said all of the suspects, who have Winder addresses, are expected to face additional charges.

The sheriff said deputies planned for the arrests by running down information where they would be located. Three of the suspects were located in Jackson County, two in Hall County and one in Loganville. Sheriff’s deputies in Hall and Jackson counties and Loganville police all assisted with the arrests, he said.

“I hope the system goes through with this and justice will be served for these precious young ones,” Smith said.
