    Oscar Delp injury update: Georgia football TE injures ankle in game vs. Tennessee Tech

    . Georgia football tight end Oscar Delp limped off the field with 2:53 to go in the first half in the Bulldogs ' game against Tennessee Tech Saturday with a right ankle injury.

    He went into the tent as Georgia continued their scoring drive.

    Delp is Georgia’s top tight end after Brock Bowers was a first-round NFL draft pick.

    Oscar Delp injury update

    Delp went to the injury tent but came out and was on the field for an extra point. He was hobbling out of the locker room with a trainer without his helmet on in the third quarter when Arian Smith caught a 50-yard touchdown in front of him. Delp raised his hands to signal a touchdown for a 31-0 lead.

    Georgia confirmed the ankle injury and said he's out for the game.

    Lawson Luckie and Stanford transfer Ben Yurosek are Georgia’s other top tight ends. Luckie scored on a 37-yard touchdown in the third quarter to give him two catches for 43 yards at the time.

    Oscar Delp entered the season with 29 catches for 345 yards and 3 touchdowns including 24 for 284 and three scores last season when he was Georgia’s No. 2 tight end after Brock Bowers. Delp had one catch for 13 yards in the first half before being injured.
