Georgia football coach Kirby Smart’s new 10-year contract puts him ahead of everyone else in the college game when it comes to the sport's highest-paid coaches.

Smart's annual pay of $13.003 million means he makes nearly $2 million more than Clemson’s Dabo Swinney, who rakes in $11.009 million, according to the latest annual USA Today Sports Salary survey published Wednesday.

Six coaches are making at least $10 million, including Texas’ Steve Sarkisian and Alabama’s Kalen DeBoer.

Eight of the 16 SEC football coaches make at least $9 million including LSU’s Brian Kelly at $9.975 million and Kentucky’s Mark Stoops, Ole Miss ’ Lane Kiffin, Missouri’s Eli Drinkwitz and Tennessee’s Josh Heupel at $9 million.

Smart’s total pay including outside athletically related income is $13,282,580. That $279,580 additional compensation is $209,580 from Fanatics and $35,000 each from Pro Sports/Boys & Girls Club and Trucking Profitability.

Smart’s $130 million, 10-year contract, announced by the school on May 2, runs through the end of the 2033 season and is fully guaranteed if he were to be fired without cause through the end of 2028. It is 85% guaranteed thereafter.

Smart was paid $10.5 million last year and that would have gone up to $10.75 million this year.
