That frame, as well as Gregory’s skillset, has drawn offers from the likes of FSU, South Carolina, and Alabama. Georgia, too, entered the fold this week. “With Georgia, it started at the beginning of my freshman season. I’ve been on an unofficial visit, camped, and gone to a game,” Gregory said. “My Dawghouse recruiting team and a few other connections helped in the process.” <nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate> The Dawgs made a big impression with the opportunity, especially given his prior knowledge of the program. “I was very shocked and excited. Coach [Dell] McGee was at my school and offered afterward. He said Coach [Bryan] McClendon gave the go-ahead to offer,” Gregory said. “Since I’ve camped and watched a practice, I can say Coach [Kirby] Smart runs them both the same. It’s one hundred percent, going hard from start to finish. No plays off. Step up or step out of the way.” Those early visits have led to a Gregory having a bond early on, as well. “I feel like I had a good connection with the coaching staff,” Gregory said. “Coach [Mike] Bobo was always welcoming to myself and my family, and with his promotion to offensive coordinator, that’s a great bond to have and can only help in any future decisions.” <nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate> He’s hoping to see those ties continue to strengthen. “I really want to work on building a better bond with my position coaches over the next few years,” Gregory said. Of course, what the Dawgs have put together the last couple of years has managed to catch his attention, as well. “First off, they are back-to-back Champions,” Gregory said. “That right there is a lot on its own. They have to have some of the best players and coaches to be at the top at the end of each year. They’re also the home state team.” Now, he’s working to add the Dawgs to his strong visit list, an opportunity he wasn’t anticipating. “Honestly, I didn’t expect UGA to offer anytime soon. With me leaving my previous school, I knew I had to show and prove a little more. I definitely will need to add them on my summer stops,” Gregory said. “I planned to visit and camp at Alabama, and then, I’ll definitely be on the west coast like USC. Texas A&amp;M offered and wanted to visit them, along with Notre Dame, Oregon.
