The Clarke County School District says ongoing construction and facilities updates means a temporary moratorium on school space rentals in Athens. There’s no word on when those School District facilities rentals might resume.

There is an afternoon meeting of the Oconee Rivers Greenway Commission, a 4 o’ session at the Athens-Clarke County Park Planning office on Pound Street.

Madison County’s Planning and Zoning Board meets this evening, 6 o’clock in Danielsville.

A Winder man gets an appointment from Governor Brian Kemp: Chris Yancey, Public Works Director in Barrow County, will serve a term on the Upper Oconee Regional Water Planning Council. The Council covers 13 counties in northeast Georgia, including Barrow, Jackson, Oconee, and Athens-Clarke counties.

A Towns County man is facing charges that include child molestation and rape. Tanner Boyd is 31 years old, from Hiawassee. Police in Cleveland say Boyd will likely face additional charges in White County.
