The Georgia Football program has taken the stage at SEC Media Days in Dallas, Texas in the official start to the college football season. Kirby Smart was the first to the stage and he addressed several key aspects of his program, including the absence of a chip on their shoulder from what they experienced last season.

One comment, in particular, stood out to The Steakhouse, and it was the comment that Smart made about his starting quarterback weathering the storm as a backup and earning his way to the top spot.

"He is a great example of college football," Kirby Smart told the media on Tuesday morning during his session on SEC Network. "In the day and age where you go somewhere and then jump from school to school is a popular trend. This kid stuck it out."

Smart continued, "This kid [Beck] said, 'You know what? I'm sticking with it. I'm going to persevere. I'm going to show resiliency' -- which is one of our core traits -- and he did that, and he was able to monetize that value as well in the form of NIL by staying and succeeding actually where his feet are."

"Every coach wants to be able to use [a Carson Beck] as an example," Steak said in response to hearing Coach Smart's comments. "When every setback is met by another school reaching out to you [and saying] 'Hey! Come over here. You lost your starting position? Come over here? They're not paying you enough money? Come over here.' It's a hot mess in college sports, but I love what he said."

Beck lost the starting job to Stetson Bennett two years ago. Most players would have packed their bags and left, but not Beck.

"He didn't run to be the quarterback at Arkansas," he said. "He could've played right away [but chose to stay.]"

Beck, a presumed Heisman hopeful for the Bulldogs, returns to Athens after a strong first season as a starter. Despite falling just short of a College Football Playoff berth, he put together a season that saw him throw for nearly 4,000 yards, 24 touchdowns, and only six interceptions.
