The Georgia Bulldogs are once again considered a top contender for the 2024 national championship. The Bulldogs have an impressive record of 42-2 over the last three seasons, including two national championships.

However, that doesn't mean things have been easy for the Bulldogs. Georgia has had its fair share of one-score wins over the years. In 2021, the Bulldogs beat Clemson 10-3. In 2022, Georgia defeated Missouri and Ohio State by five combined points. Then in 2023, the Bulldogs secured one-score victories on the road against Auburn and Georgia Tech.

Kirby Smart spoke about that Auburn game during SEC media days. He mentioned that Auburn is one of the toughest places to play in the world.

"Auburn is one of the hardest places to play in the world," Smart said via On3. "And I know that from 25 years of being a common opponent at Georgia and Alabama."

Smart mentioned that you have to be ready to play when you travel to Auburn, regardless of the team's record. During last season's game, Georgia faced some unexpected challenges in its first SEC road game but managed to come from behind and defeat Auburn 27-20. Georgia was the No. 1 ranked team in the nation and had entered the game as 14.5-point favorites.

Smart likely felt relieved when this season's schedule was unveiled. Georgia will host the Tigers on Oct. 5, 2024.
