The Athens Area Humane Society is hosting a free pet vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the facility at 1030 Mitchell Bridge Road.

The clinic will operate on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to the first 200 pets from households in Clarke, Jackson and Madison counties.

Pets ages 6 weeks and older are eligible for vaccines and all pets will be microchipped. Dogs will also receive a parvo/distemper vaccination and cats will receive vaccines for three cat-related diseases.

Frontline flea and tick medication will be provided along with vouchers for free spay and neuter procedures at the society’s clinic.

Those attending must show proof of residency and have a valid e-mail address to receive medical records. No appointments are necessary, but dogs must be securely leashed and cats in a carrier. Pets showing signs of illness or aggression may be turned away.

The AAHS is a no-kill community supported shelter that rescues companion animals.
