Key transfer considered Georgia's 'x-factor' by ESPN college football analyst

The Georgia Bulldogs have a lot of big names to replace in 2024, most notably tight end Brock Bowers.

Bowers was a three-time All-American and two-time national champion tight end for the Bulldogs during his time with the program. Replacing him was going to be no easy task, but returning TE Oscar Delp and incoming transfer Benjamin Yurosek are hoping to share that burden.

In fact, Yurosek has been named the top "X-factor" for Georgia heading into the 2024 season. ESPN's Mark Schlabach broke down what will make him so important this season.

" Quarterback Carson Beck loves throwing to tight ends, and the Bulldogs like to use two-TE sets more than most FBS teams," Schlabach wrote. "Oscar Delp will probably be the starting tight end, and Yurosek's pass-catching skills and ability to run should get him on the field early and often if he picks up the offense smoothly."

Prior to transferring, Yurosek was the starting tight end for the Stanford Cardinal for the last three seasons. During that time, he caught 108 passes for 1,342 yards and five touchdowns. He earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors in 2022.

At 6-foot-4 and 247 pounds, Yurosek is an athletic and natural pass-catcher in open space. However, he'll have his hands full in a crowded and talented Georgia tight end room in order to earn meaningful snaps this season.

The Bulldogs have a couple of talented incoming freshmen tight ends, but expect the majority of the touches and snaps to go to Delp and Yurosek in 2024.
