Georgia football has done it again and landed a commitment from one of the nation's top centers in the class of 2025, Cortez Smith.

Smith told On3's Hayes Fawcett of his decision Saturday afternoon.

“I’m a trench monster headed to o-line university," Smith said.

The 6-foot-3, 315-pound four-star prospect from Snellville, Georgia, is the 132nd overall best player in the country, the sixth-best interior offensive lineman in his class, and ranked the 16th-best player in the Peach state, according to 247 Sports.

Smith, who had over 25 offers, ultimately chose the Bulldogs over South Carolina, Miami, and Georgia Tech.

    His reasoning?

“The community behind it,” Smith told Dawgnation . “Just that community behind it and how much they specialize in just you as a person. They make sure like everybody is treated the same with finances and money and education and resources and health. Everyone gets that same exact specialization with all those resources. They focus all of those resources at the University of Georgia on everybody, if that makes sense.”

Smith has drawn a strong comparison to former Georgia star center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger. He could even be better, according to Kirby Smart and his staff.

Smith Brings A Lot More than Size to the Table

Smith brings a lot more than his massive frame to the table .

Here's what our own college football analyst at A to Z Sports , Travis May , had to say about Smith:

"Cortez Smith is a versatile, massive human being, and a force to be dealt with up front on the offensive line. He's logged extensive work playing center, guard, and tackle, throwing around opposing defenders with ease for multiple years now.

"Smith immediately debuted inside the Top 100 overall recruits about a year and a half ago after high profile scholarship offers started flowing in. Since then he has added weight, maintained quickness, and continued to show he can line up at any spot a college football offensive line may ask him to at the next level."

With the addition of Smith, the Bulldogs now up to 21 total commits in their 2025 recruiting class.
