Georgia Football Star's Recent Arrest Sparks Kirby Smart Roast-Fest

News broke earlier on Friday that Georgia Bulldogs star wide receiver, Rara Thomas, was arrested. Thomas was arrested on two counts of battery and one count of cruelty to children, according to Jake Rowe of On3 Sports.

These are incredibly serious allegations. Reports indicate that the two counts of battery are misdemeanors, while the one count of cruelty to children is a felony. The alleged incident took place on Thursday night to early Friday morning.

"Georgia wideout Rara Thomas was arrested early Friday morning on two counts of battery, both misdemeanors, and one count of second-degree cruelty to children, a felony. All three of the charges carry a 'family violence' distinction.

"Thomas was arrested by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department and is still incarcerated as he awaits a bond hearing. He was taken into custody and booked into the jail at 3:20 a.m. ET."

This marks the second time Rara Thomas has been arrested since joining the Georgia Bulldogs last offseason. Shortly after transferring to Georgia, Thomas was arrested on similar counts. All charges were dropped from the first arrest.

"It wasn't long after Thomas got to the Classic City that he experienced his first run-in with the law in a very similar way. Less than a month after enrolling, Thomas was arrested at a similar time of day for a misdemeanor count of family violence and a felony account of false imprisonment. Each of those charges were soon dropped as Thomas entered a pretrial diversion program and was required to complete anger management and community service."

As of now, neither Kirby Smart nor the Georgia football program have released a statement on Rara Thomas' arrest. But considering this team has well over 20 arrests since the 2022 season, college football fans couldn't help but react to the news.

Kirby Smart became the butt end of the joke after Thomas' arrest. Fans took to social media and didn't hold back whatsoever. It's not the best look for Smart or the Georgia football team.
