Jonesboro (Ga.) cornerback Jontavius Wyman has close to 50 offers. There is one on that list that means a little more to him. It is the Georgia offer.

The No. 177 prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking has been recruited by the Bulldogs since his freshman year. It was back in May, when he camped in Athens, that he added that offer from the in-state school. Now he has committed to Kirby Smart .

“I grew up watching Georgia and I love the school and the coaches a lot,” Wyman told On3. “Georgia is the home state school, they have great players there every year, they win and it is a great place for me to be.

“I looked at other schools like Oregon, Miami and USC, but Georgia is home for me. It feels like home when I am there, the place fits me, my family can come see me and this is like a dream for me. “

Wyman likes the talent at Georgia. He wants to compete with the best day in and day out. The four-star cornerback is excited about the coaches who will push him and help him develop too.

“Georgia has two of the best coaches on the back end in T-Rob ( Travaris Robinson ) and coach Donte Williams . Then you have coach Smart who played defensive back too. Those guys know so much about my position, they will teach me a lot and I know they will make me better. The players are there to compete with and I will get great coaching at Georgia too.”

The overall fit is what it came down to Wyman. The 6-foot, 160-pound junior didn’t know exactly when he would make a decision, but after the camp at Georgia in May and thinking things over this summer, he knew the time was right to make that call.

“With Georgia, I will put myself in a position to succeed,” Wyman said. “At Georgia, they will make me a better player, a better student and I will be in a great spot after football by going to Georgia. The people will make me better all around and that is what I was looking for.”
