The Georgia Bulldogs pulled off a major get on Friday evening, overcoming the likes of Tennessee, South Carolina, and Oregon for the services of four-star offensive lineman Juan Gaston of Atlanta’s Westlake High School. He is the twenty-second commitment of the Class of 2025 for the Bulldogs.

Coming in at a staggering 6-foot-7, 360 pounds, Gaston is the fourth commitment on the offensive line for Georgia, joining fellow four-star prospects Cortez Smith of Lilburn’s Parkview High School, Mason Short of Evans’ Evans High, and Dontrell Glover of Fairburn’s Langston Hugh High in Stacy Searels’ room for the cycle.

When you turn on the tape, it’s easy to see why the Dawgs pushed so hard for in-state mammoth.

Gaston showcases dominant power, unmistakable size, a nasty streak when it comes to finishing blocks, and surprising ability to move lightly on his feet for a man of his stature.

While he features largely at offensive tackle for the Lions, he will likely get early looks both there and on the interior once he arrives on campus in Athens before a position is determined at the collegiate level.

Currently, the recruiting industry views him as an interior offensive lineman, ranked as the No. 14 prospect at the position for the Class of 2025 per the On3 Industry Ranking. Gaston is also the nation’s No. 187 overall prospect for the cycle and No. 24 overall player in Georgia according to the same metric.

Georgia was considered a favorite throughout the Gaston recruitment, though he made it interesting down the stretch. Tennessee was considered a major threat in the recruitment.

Now, the Bulldogs will look for a fifth piece, though where they go now remains to be seen. Longtime target Damola Ajidahun looks to be trending toward Georgia Tech, while Nick Brooks is seen as a Texas lean as of late.

Still, the Bulldogs sit with a strong group for the class, bolstered by the addition of Juan Gaston, and the nation’s No. 4 overall class.
