Repeat Offender from Winterville Pleads Guilty to Armed Drug Trafficking
A Northeast Georgia resident with a lengthy criminal history pleaded guilty to armed drug trafficking charges in federal court today. Mandrell Antwoin Hull, 43, of Winterville, Georgia, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon before U.S. District Judge Tilman E. Self, III on July 22. Hull faces a minimum mandatory of 15 years in prison up to a maximum sentence of life in prison. His sentencing date will be determined by the Court. There is no parole in the federal system.
Hartwell Man Indicted by Franklin County Grand Jury on 17 Counts
A Hartwell man has been indicted by the Franklin County Grand Jury on 17 felony counts stemming from an incident at a Royston convenience store last month. 32-year-old Carlos Tyrone Wilson was indicted on three counts of felony Aggravated Assault Family Violence, six counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, three counts of Felony Aggravated Assault, two counts of felony Cruelty to Children in the First Degree, one count of Discharge of a Gun Near a Highway or Street, one count of Discharge of a Firearm on the Property of Another, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
10-Year-Old Boy Drives Car After Grandfather Has Medical Emergency Behind the Wheel
A quick-witted 10-year-old boy became a hero, taking the wheel of his Grandfather’s car when the 70-year-old had a medical emergency. On July 15, Drake Linn was in a pickup truck towing a boat on Interstate 75 when his grandfather, who was driving, experienced a medical emergency, according to a Facebook post by the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office in Calhoun, Georgia.

Six Flags Over Georgia announces new chaperone policy
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Six Flags Over Georgia & Hurricane Harbor have announced a new chaperone policy for its younger guests. Guests ages 15 years of age or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to be admitted to or remain in the park after 4 p.m. daily. The park says that it is also reserving the right to enforce the rule earlier in the day if needed.
