    Athens' golf picks up third straight conference victory to start season

    Playing in front of a familiar setting, Athens picked up its third straight Tri-Valley Conference victory on the course to start off the new season in a matchup hosted by Alexander at Ohio University Golf Course. The Bulldogs’ Ellie Beck-Aden medaled in the event with a low-score of 36.

    Alongside her, Fern Sigman (43), Vera Kiryukhin (54), Mia Szewczyk (62) and Marley Christman (69) also competed for Athens.

    Federal Hocking finished in fourth place behind another efficient day from Addison Jackson. Finishing second individually, Jackson shot 39 to lead the Lancers while Maggie Kneier (60), Maddie Hines (60), Elizabeth Boyd (63) and Estelle Ripple (68) also competed.

    Alexander placed fifth with Kaitlynn Green’s 56 leading the way. Abby Mansfield shot a 57 while Raegan Wandling (58), Greta Meyer (58), Adison Appleman (59) and Nina Viny (63) played as well for the Spartans.

    Nelsonville-York finished in eighth with Abbi Elliot (62), Mya Shcultz (63), Madi Pidcock (65) and Cat Dixon (69) competing for the Buckeyes.
