    Nelsonville-York routs Raiders on the road

    BIDWELL — Nelsonville-York football opened up Tri-Valley Conference-Ohio in emphatic fashion on Friday night with a 48-7 beatdown over winless River Valley. The Buckeyes (3-1, 1-0 TVC-Ohio) were up 28-7 at halftime over the Raiders (0-4, 0-1 TVC-Ohio) before eventually cruising to the victory.

    Holes were open all over the defense on Friday with Nelsonville-York rushing for over 300 yards and six touchdowns as a team in the win. Tailback Landen Inman popped off in his first game action this season, carrying the ball nine times for 96 yards and a score. Austin Gautier finished with 73 yards and a pair of scores on nine carries as well.

    Walker Stone and Alec Thompson each scored on the ground as well while Dakota Cunningham added 46 yards on seven carries.

    Cameron Sullivan finished 12-24 passing for 155 yards and a score in the win.

    Adding on to his rushing total, Inman was also the leading receiver for the Buckeyes with 91 yards on six catches. Holden Hodgson caught a touchdown while Logan Meek grabbed three catches for 29 yards.

    Defensively, Jaron Layton and Caden Young each finished with a pair of sacks. Bean Martin also got to the quarterback once. Noah Loge finished with a team-high seven tackles while Layton and Inman both added six.

    Nelsonville-York next suits up for a cross-divisional matchup against a talented Waterford team on the road this Friday.
