    Beck-Aden medals as Athens secures home golf match

    Playing on familiar grounds, Athens’ golf picked up yet another team victory on Sept. 11, taking the Tri-Valley Conference match held by the Bulldogs at Ohio University Golf Course. Athens’ Ellie Beck-Aden medaled on the nine-hole home course, besting Federal Hocking’s Addison Jackson by one stroke with a final score of 42.

    The Bulldogs’ Fern Sigman and Vera Kiryukhin finished within the top six to help the team grab victory, shooting a 58 and 59 respectively. Athens also had Maelle Newton (68), Marley Christman (68) and Mia Szewczyk (68) compete.

    Jackson’s 43 led Federal Hocking to a third place finish overall. Aside from the star swinger, the Lancers had Maggie Kneier (61), Elizabeth Boyd (63), Estelle Ripple (67), Cora Kneier (69) and Maddie Hines (70) play.

    Alexander placed sixth overall with Kaitlynn Green’s 59 leading the charge. Raegan Wandling finished with a 63 while Reegan Jordan (70), Olivia Burton (72) and Abby Mansfield (72) also competed for the Spartans.

    Competing solo once again, Trimble’s Braylee Richards placed fourth individually with a 53.

    Nelsonville-York sent three competitors with Kylie Bishop’s (60) leading the effort. Abbi Elliot finished with a 68 while Kinsey Fowler shot 74.
