    SEPT. 19

    11:59 — Deputies responded to South Blackburn Road in Athens in reference to an unidentified male coming to their door at 3:00 AM. Deputies patrolled the area but were unable to locate the male.

    12:33 — Deputies responded to Wollett Road in Nelsonville in reference to the caller’s neighbors shooting firearms. Upon taking to all parties, it was determined that the firearms were being shot in a safe manner and not toward the caller’s residence.

    13:06 — Deputies responded to Little Italy in The Plains in reference to a harassment complaint. Upon speaking with the complainant, deputies were advised that a former employee has been harassing the current staff. A trespass complaint was filled out and served to the former employee.

    14:43 — Deputies responded to Spring Street in Chauncey to investigate a report of an attempted burglary. Deputies spoke with the homeowner about the incident and learned his neighbors informed him about the incident. Deputies patrolled the area for a possible suspect but were unable to locate anyone.

    15:18 — Deputies responded to Perry Ridge Road, Nelsonville in reference to a trespass complaint. On scene deputies spoke with several individuals who stated someone was on their property. Deputies patrolled the area in search of the individual to serve him with his trespass form but were unable to locate him. Deputies will continue to look for the individual to serve him with his trespass form.

    18:20 — Deputies responded to East Fourth Street in The Plains to investigate a report of a dispute. Upon arrival, deputies determined no dispute had taken place and no further action was needed.

    19:32 — Deputies responded to Big Bailey Run Road, Millfield in reference to a suspicious person complaint. On scene deputies spoke with an individual and determined everything was okay. No further action needed.

    19:36 — Deputies responded to Glouster to check the well-being of several juveniles after receiving an anonymous report about possible abuse. Deputies spoke with several juveniles at the residence who appeared to be happy, healthy, and well. No further action was taken.

    19:39 — Deputies responded to Dollar General in The Plains in reference to a theft complaint. A report was taken, and an investigation is pending at this time.

    19:56 — Deputies patrolled the area of Republic Avenue and Madison Street in Glouster after receiving reports of juveniles riding minibikes recklessly on the roadway. Deputies patrolled for some time but were unable to locate the juveniles.

    20:51 — Deputies responded to Elm Rock Rd in Nelsonville reference to a vehicle that pulled into the cemetery and turned its headlights off. Deputies located the vehicle, and he was letting his dogs go for a walk.

    21:21 — Deputies spoke with a male over the phone about a trespassing complaint. A report was taken on the incident.

    SEPT. 18

    07:10 WARRANT Cleared by Arrest — Deputies arrested Bryon Casteel, 45, of Albany. Casteel had multiple felony warrants out of Athens County Common Pleas Court. Casteel was transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail where he will remain until he posts bond or is released by the court.

    09:57 ANIMAL COMPLAINT — Deputies were called to Lemaster Road, The Plains, for an animal complaint. The caller advised that there were cattle loose and near the roadway. Deputies were able to locate the cattle and get them back in the pasture area. Units returned to patrol.

    10:17 GUNSHOT-SOUND — Deputies responded to Stewart in reference to a disorderly conduct complaint. Deputies spoke to all involved parties, and the issue was handled on scene.

    12:51 INCIDENT REPORT Open/Active — Deputies were called to Kroger’s in Trimble, OH for a report of suspicious activity. Employees found that a camera had been tampered with and possibly the ATM. This case is still under further investigation.

    13:53 THEFT-LARCENY Unknown 70 N PLAINS RD, THE PLAINS — Deputies spoke to a female in reference to a theft complaint in The Plains. The case is under investigation.

    16:44 THEFT-LARCENY — Closed 6360 AVANELLE DR, ATHENS — Deputies took a report of fraud over the phone.

    18:39 05-24-05255 REPOSSESSION Closed 3690 ENLOW RD, ALBANY — Deputies responded to Enlow Road in Albany in reference to a vehicle repossession complaint. Upon speaking to both parties the vehicle was repossessed without incident.

    19:07 05-24-05256 DISPUTE-V Closed — 27 Grant St, THE PLAINS — Deputies responded to Grant Street in The Plains reference to a dispute. All parties were separated prior to the deputies’ arrival.

    20:15 TRAFFIC ACCIDENT-NON Closed 177 N PLAINS RD, THE PLAINS — Deputies were dispatched to the area of State Route 685 near US 33 in reference to a vehicle that ran off the roadway. Deputies located the vehicle and determined that there were no injuries. The Ohio State Highway Patrol arrived on scene and investigated the incident.

    21:05 SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE Closed E Fourth St / S Plains Rd, THE PLAINS — Deputies responded to the area of East Fourth Street and South Plains Road in The Plains in reference to a male laying in the grass along the roadway. Deputies patrolled the area, but the male was gone on arrival.
