    Trimble's comeback sparks five-set thriller on senior night

    GLOUSTER — Senior night is always going to be special, Trimble decided to make theirs just that much more meaningful on the court. Snapping a five-game losing skid, the Tomcats fell down 2-0 to Alexander at home before storming back to grab the final three sets and secure victory in a five-set thriller on Monday night.

    In a wild, back-and-forth contest between two cross-divisional opponents, the final scoresheet read 14-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-12 in favor of the Tomcats.

    It was a two-headed effort offensively for Trimble with Macy Vore and Bailey Tomlin each spiking 11 kills. Mikayla Dane pitched in nine herself while Brooklyn Burdette added eight. Rilynn Fouts finished with 43 assists out of the setter spot.

    Five different Tomcats were able to finish with double-digit digs in a group effort defensively. Alyvia Portier led all players on the night with 21 while Burdette (16) and Charlie Shafer (15) were both serious contributors. Fouts and Vore pitched in 12 and 11 digs respectively to pitch in. Fouts also blocked five balls at the net.

    For the Spartans, Meena Juedes had another stellar night at the net with a game-high 20 kills. Kayden Bean cracked double-digits with 12 herself while Lila Moser added nine. Jade Seaman ended up with 35 assists in the loss.

    Bean also led the Spartans defensively with 14 digs. Abbi Ohms finished with 13 while Kaylee Johnson (12) and Seaman (11) both were factors on the night.
