Showers to Hit Eastern Ohio, Western Pennsylvania Monday
Pittsburgh, PA – Rain is expected to move into eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania beginning Monday, bringing a shift from the recent dry and warm conditions. According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, the week will start with a 50% chance of showers on Monday, cooling temperatures to around 81°F. Residents in Pittsburgh, Wheeling, WV, and Zanesville, OH, should prepare for intermittent rain throughout the day.

Cy Young Youth League will have blitz ball fundraising tournament in September
NEWCOMERSTOWN − The Cy Young Youth League has been thinking outside of the box for local fundraising to benefit improvements and other costs associated with the league. "Several of us set around after a board meeting discussing our next fundraiser and we wanted something new and fresh, different, and fun to spark interest," Jenna Marstrell said. "Nathan Watson suggested blitz ball as they knew another group that had held one and it was a success. I admit I was the first to say what is blitz ball which in turn I was laughed at then told wiffle ball. We then formed a group to oversee and plan the blitz ball tournament which includes myself, Amy and Mitch Barron and Nathan. Many of our board members are experienced in running baseball tournaments, so we are hoping that will be helpful in orchestrating this tournament."

Summer-like weather ahead of a rainy week
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - High pressure that has been giving us the summer-like weather and drought has cleared out allowing for a low pressure trough to build in. This will cause clouds to build in overnight which will keep lows in the mid 60s. The trough will cause much needed showers and storms to move into the area on Monday. Rainfall amounts will vary depending on where the showers go and how heavy the rainfall is but we will likely see about a quarter to half an inch of rain.
