According to Keep Athens Beautiful, from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, residents will have access to electronic recycling and free tire disposal with proof of county residence.

The tire disposal will only be for passenger and truck tires only, and no tire businesses will be allowed to use the service, the organization said.

Normally, tires 20 inches or less cost $4 to be disposed and truck tires 19.5 inches or bigger cost $15 at the Henderson County Precinct 3 Solid Waste Station.

Keep Athens Beautiful said people must show an electric bill or a driver’s license to participate.
