Community backs fundraising effort to develop treatment for child's rare disorder
COLCHESTER, Vt. — A Colchester family working tirelessly to fundraise for a medical treatment for their child is getting a boost from local businesses. Four-and-a-half-year-old Henry Saladino was born with a very rare genetic condition known as AHC, for alternating hemiplegia of childhood. According to Henry's mom, Mary Saladino, AHC causes seizures, trouble breathing, and episodes of temporary paralysis almost every day.

Raritan Valley Community College student Elena Waddleton is set graduate with an Associate Degree in Social Sciences in May 2025. Elena started her college journey at Temple University in Philadelphia, where she spent her freshman year. Julie Burke, now known as Julie Burke Israel, was mentioned among other hires by Mansfield Superintendent Teresa Murphy in a district newsletter on June 20. When questioned about Burke’s absence from Hull High in May, former Superintendent Judith Kuehn asked that the public “respect her privacy” and would give no further details about the administrator’s prolonged absence. Allen) At the Governor’s weekly press conference, state leaders shared that a decision on a FEMA disaster declaration is expected by the end of this week. If Vermont qualifies for individual FEMA assistance, impacted Vermonters will need to submit their information to FEMA, in addition to 211. Vermonters are encouraged to prepare their documentation in advance. Resources are available at the State Floor Recovery Centers to assist with this and we will communicate the availability of assistance if, and when, FEMA makes a decision.
