Merrill Fire Department shares video of power line fire that knocked out service to 5,000 customers
MERRILL, Wis. (WSAW) - The Merrill Fire Department has released a video of a fire caused by a branch that damaged a powerline Monday. It happened around 6:30 p.m. at the alley in the 1300 block of East 8th St. in Merrill. The outage initially affected approximately 5,000 customers. The Merrill Fire Department said a tree branch was lying across high voltage power line and causing significant arcing and flames.
