ATHENS, WV (WVNS) — Concord University will offer a new Bachelor of Science degree starting in Fall 2024.

A new Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics program, set to start in Fall 2024 at Concord University, was approved by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) .

Concord University and Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College partner together to offer business degree

Students who pursue the degree will not only take a selection of common core classes, but they will also be able to pick one of five elective focuses that include: Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Geospatial Science, or Interdisciplinary.

The students involved in the program will be able to learn how to gather necessary information from raw data to create data-driven predictions or decisions, as well as discuss analytical recommendations and results to non-technical and technical audiences.

Organizations including the American Statistical Association and the Association for Computing Machinery gave recommendations for the design of the program.
