    Concord Dept. of Business to host 31st Annual Concord Business Challenge

    ATHENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Details regarding the upcoming 31st Annual Concord Business Challenge have been announced by the Concord University Department of Business .

    The event is scheduled to begin at 8:30am on Thursday, October 24, 2024, and will see junior and senior high school students from both West Virginia and Virginia showcasing their business acumen.

    The challenge has been designed to provide participating students with the opportunity to put their business knowledge to the test in a competitive setting. An array of competitions in areas of business such as communications, finance, accounting, computer applications, hospitality, marketing, management, business math, and economics will be presented as part of the Concord Business Challenge.

    Winners will be selected for first, second, and third place in each of the challenge’s competitions.

    “For 30 years we’ve had the privilege of hosting the Concord Business Challenge. As we prepare for our 31st annual event this fall, we’re thrilled to welcome talented juniors and seniors from across West Virginia and Virginia to our campus,” says Concord Department of Business Chair, Dr. Allison Bean.

    “We’re proud to continue the tradition of supporting the next generation of business leaders who will shape our economic future and we look forward to seeing the innovative thinking and skills these young minds will bring to our campus in October.”

    Beginning at noon on the day of the event, participating students will be recognized with an awards ceremony where twelve scholarships ranging in value from $1,000 to $4,000 are expected be awarded, with the top two students qualifying for up to $4,000 to be awarded over the course of eight semesters.
