BeaverFit products don’t just last in the gym, studio or facility — they last everywhere

BeaverFit, the fitness equipment design, manufacturing and distribution company, scoffs in the face of Mother Nature. Being a leading supplier for the U.S. military, the brand knows how to make the toughest for the toughest — producing equipment capable of withstanding whipping winds, heavy downpours, high temperatures and whatever else nature dares to throw at it.

By doing so, BeaverFit makes outdoor fitness a pursuit worthy of a gym or studio’s time, space and capital.

“Our ability to outdoor-ify our products has been a massive benefit for our customers looking to make big investments in outdoor spaces,” said Nick Vay, VP of Commercial Sales. “If you’re going to take the time, energy and money to develop these spaces, you don’t want to be replacing your equipment in a matter of months. Our stuff is designed to be used specifically outdoors and we also have a lifetime warranty on all of it, so you know it’s going to last.”

    Preparation Is Key

Establishing outdoor exercise options isn’t as simple as taking your equipment and putting it in a parking lot, yard or court. Thinking it is is a common misconception — and a damaging one at that.

“A lot of folks just want to take what they’re putting inside and put it outside — and unfortunately that’s not going to work,” said Vay. “Those products and materials aren’t designed specifically to be put outdoors. We see a lot of folks say they’re going to just move stuff outside and see how it goes. Six months later, they’re saying they need to take this a bit more seriously because all of their stuff has been absolutely destroyed.”

The benefits of outdoor fitness can sometimes push gym or studio owners to skip steps while setting it up. The opportunity to decongest packed facilities and open new revenue streams is enticing to any owner. But BeaverFit is one of the few able to deliver each the right way.

“A lot of the folks that we work with want to replicate the most popular areas inside of their gym or studio outside because the more high usage areas need more equipment so they can alleviate some of that pressure day-to-day,” Vay explained. “There aren’t really any other brands out there who are making traditional strength and functional training equipment in an outdoor environment, so that’s what we lean into.”

    How BeaverFit Battles the Elements

BeaverFit accomplishes outdoor excellence by making fitness products the same way we make our cities, roads and the other aspects of societal infrastructure that we rely on every day. The brand never settles for anything other than the best when it comes to its manufacturing process and materials.

“We use the biggest, most industrial, highest quality steel in the market,” said Vay. “Then it goes through a rigorous process that starts with hot-dip galvanization. The industry, more broadly, doesn’t know what that means, but it’s basically the same process used for building bridges and buildings. It’s a chemical compound process that all of our steel is dipped into, which creates a chemical bond so a product will not rust over time.”

Vay added that most of BeaverFit’s products are freestanding, meaning they do not require any bolting into the ground. Doing so is a major challenge when outdoors given the varying landscapes in play. Along with being water resistant, all BeaverFit products have areas where any water can escape as well — an underrated part of weatherproofing equipment.

BeaverFit also provides various shade options which are especially useful for those in higher-temperature environments. It also applies complete shelter with the SunPro, a fabric structure that creates an outdoor training space protected from the elements. It withstands 25 pounds of snow load and 125 mph winds.

“A lot of people mention that it rains near them or they’re in Texas where it’s 115 degrees in the summer, so we provide a broad range of shade solutions,” said Vay. “We can turn those into maybe not 365-day-a-year solutions, but much closer to being an environment where people can train year-round, as long as it’s not below zero outside.”

    Proper Storage

But weatherproofing equipment while it’s in use is only half the battle. If you put together a worthwhile collection of outdoor products, odds are you’ll have to store some of it outside as well. There lies another area where BeaverFit’s unique approach to manufacturing reigns supreme.

“If you don’t think those steel parts are designed to be left outside, I can assure you that those soft goods are absolutely not designed to be left outdoors,” said Vay. “Their balls, bags, bars, bells, all those fun toys, they aren’t designed to be left outdoors at all, let alone for an extended period of time.”

To protect those more vulnerable pieces of equipment and more, BeaverFit sells weatherproof container solutions with integrated storage that include external rigging and racking. Some even attach directly to structures like the SunPro.

“All of our core products, whether our Shred Sheds, Lockers or trailers, include all that smart, integrated storage and access points so you’re not dragging stuff in and out of the gym or just leaving it outside,” said Vay. “The integrated storage is a huge, huge value for our partners.”

    Customization Ices the Cake

The ability to fit client needs like a glove isn’t lost in this marquee approach to equipment design. Indoor or outdoor, BeaverFit doesn’t merely build and sell equipment to gyms — but builds specifically for them and their aesthetic.

“Our entire infrastructure is set up for customization,” said Vay. “We almost never sell just a BeaverFit brand product.  It’s almost always whatever the aesthetic or design of that end customer looks like.”

BeaverFit provides for brands like Rumble, BFT, Spenga and MADabolic . It delivers not only from a functionality standpoint but also in accordance with branding needs.

“It looks like their product, not a BeaverFit product,” Vay added. “Their brand is first and that’s what we try to do.”

This ability to give members products that mesh well with their preexisting offerings, paired with indoor and outdoor flexibility, is what has made and continues to make BeaverFit unique.

“We’re just running our same play,” said Vay. “We deliver premium outdoor solutions and bring the products along with it. Anything we develop can be used indoors or outdoors. We have that suite of options and then we start by asking ourselves what the customer wants. Then we reverse engineer that solution from a functionalist perspective, and most importantly, a design and aesthetic perspective.”
