Nation's No. 5 Safety Izayia Williams Announces Commitment To Syracuse

Four-star safety Izayia Williams announced his commitment to Syracuse. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound safety is from Tavares High School in Leesburg, Florida.

He committed to the Orange over offers from Ole Miss, South Florida, Louisville, Iowa State, and Western Kentucky.

Williams is the No. 49 overall prospect and No. 5 safety in the class of 2026. He ranks as the No. 3 safety and No. 6 player in Florida, according to On3 Sports .

He finished his sophomore season with 40 total tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, three pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.

Williams is the second commitment for Syracuse in the 2026 recruiting class. He joins four-star athlete Demetres Samuel , who committed to the Orange on March 30.
