Angel Reese's Bleak Mental Health Confession to WNBA Legend Lisa Resurfaces Amid Sky Struggles

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese appears to be on top of the world right now.

And while Reese skyrocketed to fame in 2023, she has had to overcome multiple mental health hurdles to get to the point where she's at today.

But after Reese's sub-par performance against the New York Liberty on Saturday, media outlets have rehashed a vulnerable conversation Reese had with WNBA legend Lisa Leslie in a 2023 feature article from Glamour Magazine .

In the article, Leslie says to Reese, "I understand how injuries can breed self-doubt and impact mental health. How did you manage to navigate through [injuries at Maryland] and come out stronger? Do you have any advice or tools you’d recommend to young athletes who may find themselves in similar situations?"

"That was my lowest point, for sure," Reese responded.

"I felt lost, not knowing anything beyond waking up daily, going to rehab, and watching others play. Journaling became a lifeline for me and something I picked up freshman year. And I leaned on prayer, reading a verse every day to keep me going."

Luckily Reese was able to rebound from this dark period in her life and become one of the WNBA's most promising players.
