Former Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins played in 15 games for the Baltimore Ravens during his NFL rookie campaign back in 2020.

After putting up 805 rushing yards on just 134 carries (6.0 YPC) during his first NFL season, fans were understandably excited about the prospects of the ex-Buckeye potentially becoming one of the most dynamic backs in the league.

Unfortunately, though, injuries suffered in each season since Dobbins' rookie year have limited him to making just 9 regular season appearances since 2020.

Despite suffering yet another devastating season-ending injury in 2023 with Baltimore, however, Dobbins appears extremely confident in his chances to bounce back on his new team - the Los Angeles Chargers - this fall.

"I do think if I get the volume, I'll be one of the best in the league," Dobbins said Thursday, via ESPN. "I've shown that.

"Ya'll know how much yards I averaged per carry? I don't know how many backs got that."

Among all NFL running backs with at least 225 rushing attempts since 2020, Dobbins' 5.8 yards per carry ranks No. 1 - and by a significant margin.

The next closest back is Cleveland's Nick Chubb (5.4 YPC).

Staying healthy will be priority number one for Dobbins if he's to revitalize his NFL career with the Chargers in 2024.

"Now I'm on a new journey, a healthy journey this year. You guys will see -- it'll be special," Dobbins said.

The Chargers will begin the 2024 NFL season at home against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sept. 8.
