Mikal Bridges is Knicks' Best New Weapon

The New York Knicks have been one of the most active teams in the NBA in the offseason, as they have acquired a number of new players and made a few really big moves.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Dan Favale , he picks who he thinks is every NBA team's best new weapon heading into this season. For the Knicks, he thinks that player is obviously Mikal Bridges, as he thinks he is the team's "finishing piece."

"Mikal Bridges is the type of player who fits anywhere —even on rosters that don't house teammates from his Villanova days. And the well-roundedness of his game means he can serve many purposes," Favale writes. "Bridges is now in a situation where he needn't be his team's most important offensive or defensive player. That's a terrifying proposition...for New York's opponents."

The Knicks were able to finish this past season with the five-seed despite a number of their players being out with injuries. Now that the team is healthy and they have added Bridges, they could make a lot of noise this season.

Bridges averaged just under 20 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal per game this past season. His ability to slide into any role and get it done on both ends of the court night in and night out makes him a hand-in-glove fit for head coach Tom Thibodeau's system.

The Knicks have made all of the moves they have this offseason in an effort to contend with the likes of the Boston Celtics at the top of the Eastern Conference, and the team will be looking to contend for their first title since 1973.
