Will Josh Allen Play in Bills' Preseason Opener?

With the Buffalo Bills' first preseason game of the 2024 season right around the corner, a topic of conversation is always how much the starters will play.

While the preseason may be insignificant to the outcome of the season, it's still a great way for players to shake off some of the rust of the offseason and get some experience playing at game speed again.

Now, Bills coach Sean McDermott has come out and said that all of the team's healthy starters, including Josh Allen, will play for about a quarter against the Chicago Bears.

This should not come as too much of a surprise to fans, as many starters often play for one or multiple preseason games as they ramp up for the start of the season. Allen has played in at least one preseason game every year since he's entered the league.

The Bills will not be the only ones putting their starters out on the field, as the Bears will also be playing their first team to begin the game, including first overall pick Caleb Williams.

With there still being a few weeks until the Bills begin their regular-season, expect for there to be some changes to the starting lineup in the coming weeks, so the starting lineup that takes the field against Chicago may not be the same one that Bills Mafia sees in Week 1.

Regardless, fans will still get to see some of the team's top performers from last season take the field again sooner than they may have expected when the Bills take on the Bears in the preseason opener on Saturday.
