With the semifinals of the Olympic men's basketball tournament underway, many are wondering who will emerge victorious and secure their place in the gold medal match.

On one side of the bracket, a lot of fans are anticipating Team USA to contend for gold with the star-studded roster they possess with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry among others. Some believe that Serbia could pull off an upset with Nikola Jokic and Bogdan Bogdanovic leading the way.

On the other side, France has home-court advantage as they boast NBA talents like Victor Wembanyama, Rudy Gobert, and Evan Fournier. Then there is Germany, who are the defending FIBA World Cup champions as they look to continue building their current resume as one of the best teams in the world.

The scenarios of two of these four teams advancing to the final are surely possible, and one NBA legend has made his picks.

Dirk Nowitzki, who had a spectacular 20-year career with the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA, represented Germany at the international level in two FIBA World Cups and the 2008 Olympics.

Nowitzki acknowledged the talent of each team, but went with the matchup that would be the most probable.

"If you ask me to say predictions, I would say US vs Germany in the Final," Nowitzki said.

One could argue that Nowitzki has some homer-ism going on by picking his native Germany to reach the gold medal match. However, the talent level on both sides is undeniable as it would serve as an incredible matchup on Saturday.
